Write a Guest Post

This blog, excITingIP.com contains a lot of posts (articles) on Computer Networking & IT Technologies that are used mainly in Enterprise companies / Small & Medium Businesses. If you are reading this blog, you might be related to the Computer Networking / IT industry. So, if you want to write an article about something that is related to the audience of this website, you can use the contact from and let me know the topic you want to write on.

Why should you write a Guest Post?

1. If you have a flair for writing & passion for technology, this website would help you get readers for your article.

2. You can have an author byline at the end of the post: You can say who you are, who you work with, whats your specialization, your interests, etc.

3. If you have a blog or website, one link to the URL or a landing page can be provided at the end of the Guest post. Otherwise, you can just request a link to your linkedin / facebook / google plus or any other profile page that represents you on the Web.

What is the procedure you should follow to submit a guest post?

1. Contact me via the contact form and let me know the topic you want to write on – It should be related to the content of this website (Computer Networking / IT Technologies) and should not be published elsewhere.

2. In your message, let me know the page / website you want to be linked in the Author byline (if any). I cannot link to totally unrelated sites.

3. If I approve the topic, you can write an article and send it to me as an email attachment (As a plain text document – Not MS Word/ Open Office/ Libre Office documents).

If the above guidelines are not followed, there will be no reply to your messages.

But before writing the guest post, please be sure to follow these guidelines (otherwise your article may be rejected):

1. Guest post is not an advertisement / press release / product endorsement.

2. Guest post can introduce a technology, describe a technology and mention its advantages and disadvantages. It cannot be about your products / services. For example, you can write about the advantages and disadvantages of managed cloud hosting providers in general but not about your own managed hosting business.

3. Products and services should not be mentioned in the post, unless there is something very unique about the technology used in a product. Even then you can try to write about the technology without mentioning the product/ brand.

4. The author of this website has full rights to reject any guest post for any reason. But you will get an email to let you know if your post has been accepted / rejected.

5. The author of this website has rights to edit the post to any extent required (which includes adding additional related points ; linking to appropriate resources, etc). You will be informed if a substantial amount of editing is done. There will be no intimations for minor editing and links.

6. The guest post cannot be about a topic already written about in this blog.  You can check it using the Search box (on the sidebar) to confirm that the topic has not been covered already.

7. After publishing your post, you are not allowed to re-post the same article in your blog or any other website. That creates content duplication issues. But you can link to this article from your blog. Same way, you cannot submit an article that is already published anywhere on the Internet.

8. You will not be paid for writing a guest post here and you cannot claim any rights to the content after it has been published here. But, the post will convey explicitly that it is a guest post written by so-and-so & will also include an author byline at the end of the post. You don’t have to pay anything to write a guest post here, as well.
